Senator Patricia Rucker Named Chairman of Education Committee for 85th Legislature
CHARLESTON – Senator Patricia Rucker, R-Jefferson, has been named Chairman of the Education Committee for the 85th Legislature.
Senator Rucker also will serve as a member of the Agriculture and Rural Development, Banking and Insurance, Confirmations, Health and Human Resources, Judiciary, and Natural Resources Committees.
Senator Rucker was elected to the Senate in 2016. She has served as Chairman of the Senate Education Committee since 2019.
“Senator Rucker is the driving force on reforming West Virginia’s educational system from top to bottom,” Senate President-elect Craig Blair, R-Berkeley, said. “Her strength in the face of adversity and her desire to always put the needs of West Virginia’s children front and center makes her a valuable asset to the Legislature and the State of West Virginia. I am looking forward to her continuing the outstanding work she has started.”
The First Session of the 85th Legislature begins January 13, 2021.
