Senator Rucker Files to Run for Re-election

Yesterday, State Senator Patricia filed with the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office, making it official that she is running for re-election in the 16^th Senatorial District; a district that includes all of Jefferson County and parts of Berkeley County. 

“I feel that my first term has been productive, but I also feel that there is so much more that needs to be done”, said Senator Rucker, surrounded by many of her senate colleagues as she filled out the paperwork.  “It’s great working with my fellow Senators – they showed a lot of grit and determination in getting the landmark Education Reform legislation across the finish line”, she added, “and we managed to get things done for the Eastern Panhandle as well like ensuring that the MARC Train service continues. 

“For the next session and beyond my goal is to continue to work with my colleagues to enact legislation that will focus on the welfare of all the children that are currently living in institutions.  We have a crisis on our hands and we need to find ways to strengthen families and to ensure that children grow up in caring households that nurture them and give them what they need”.
